What is SmartPost shipping?

SmartPost is a shipping method that combines the strengths of our preferred carrier, FedEx, with those of the US Postal Service.  FedEx picks up the packages from us, but the USPS delivers them to you. With SmartPost, we are able to deliver small and lightweight packages to residential areas at rates significantly lower than traditional ground delivery services from couriers such as UPS or FedEx.

SmartPost is available as a shipping method for all orders under 10lbs and less than $150.

When you select SmartPost as a shipping method your package will travel to our  FedEx Ground hub in Memphis, TN.  From there, it will travel to the nearest SmartPost hub to your area.  Packages are consolidated at the SmartPost hub and sent in bulk to the Post Office distribution center that services your location.

Your USPS mail carrier will deliver the package to your home or Post Office Box, depending on whether or not you receive mail at your home.

In general, SmartPost delivery takes between 3-6 business days.  On average, customers receive their packages about a week from the day they placed an order.  Some locations will be a little bit faster, and others a little slower.  As with all shipping methods, bad weather and holiday schedules can create additional delays.

Our shipping calculator will provide our best estimate for the delivery date of your package, but please note that SmartPost transit times are not guaranteed.

We are glad to have SmartPost as an option for lower cost delivery when you aren't in a rush to receive your goods.  However, if you need your merchandise in a hurry, it would be wise to spend a few dollars more and use our FedEx Ground or FedEx Home Delivery options.
